Dear Shaul,
If you have been hurt, end it now. Don't let them hurt you again.
I went to an "elder's meeting" and during it, I was crying/ wailing for 2 hours from the bottom of my soul because they were so ignorant, I couldn't leave (other congregation meeting going on outside) and I had nightmares EVERYnight... post traumatic stress, for at least a year afterwards.
I would never give them that power over me again.
Tell them "I cannot mentally, physically endure such stress, and for my own health, cannot afford this "shepherding" call.
love & hugs, cha ching

Another problem for JW apologists
by Jeffro inthe 2013 edition of the new world translation renders 2 kings 17:1 as:.
in the 12th year of king ahaz of judah, hoshea the son of elah became king over israel in samaria; he ruled for nine years.. this is in fact a better rendering than the previous nwt, which stated:.
in the twelfth year of ahaz the king of judah, hoshea the son of elah became king in samaria over israel for nine years.. despite their improved rendering, the watch tower society still claims that hoshea's reign 'really' began in 758 bce, but that it was 'established' in the 12th year of ahaz.

"These," "Many," "All" witnesses will soon dutifully "just love the new teaching" when it is revealed by the Holy Spirit...
I mean.... the "GB"

At? Schmat! FOR? what a Bore!
The only reason at/for was ever included in the “discussion” was to give the WTBS a way out, if they evidently ever needed a “get out of jail free card” .. right?
Those 'soon to be' old quotes do / willcome in handy, don’t/ won't they?
Meanwhile, “these nations”, “all the nations”, “all these lands”, "many nations" let’s list the nations, (Jer 25:17-26) “will have to serve the king of Babylon seventy years”….. ALL of them…. Period….
Con men always get you to doubt your own eyes.....

The Definition of Insanity: LOYALTY TO THE GOVERNING BODY
by Terry inthe definition of insanity boils down to expecting success by repeating actions which cause failure.. .
jehovah's witnesses are expected to prove their loyalty to the organization by believing and practicing what they are told.. does this lead to success or failure?.
ask the thousands of loyal believers who were led to expect armageddon in 1914, 1925, 1975!.

Funny Terry, my husband was just saying, "I could start a blog right now using:
"Policy Failure = G.B. failure = No H.S.= Who cares what the 8 men think now"
I said, "Sorry dear, Terry just did it"

Governing Body humility: crapping their pants and admitting it stinks
by Terry inwe've all heard the old saying:.
any job worth doing is worth doing right the first time.. but, this would not seem to apply in the only organization on earth claiming to be solely guided by jehovah!.
in the watchtower society, the governing body gathers in a board room and prays, discusses and votes.. presumably the prayer invokes holy spirit of jehovah.

Exactly BudBayView!
If "the Son of God" doesn't put Thomas down for "certainly not believing,"
"unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side" John 20:24-28
then "who is mortal man", the GB, to put anyone down for requesting the same?
Hmmmm?
Oh yeah.... the "faithful and discreet slave"
the ones who "follow in Christ's footsteps", the ones who "nurture his sheep"
Christ's example:
Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and he stood in their midst and said: "May YOU have peace." 27 Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop being unbelieving but become believing." 28 In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!"

Reasonable Doubt & Justice
by cha ching inwould it be fair for jehovah god to execute 7 billion people, when there is reasonable doubt about the teachings of jws?.
in a murder trial, you are instructed not to condemn someone to death, if there is reasonable doubt?.
what if you cannot believe in overlapping generations?.

Very good Smiddy, if I was in the courtroom, the evidence that you presented is clear, easy to understand, and would create "reasonable doubt."
from June of 2010, when this whole "overlapping" thing began... I loved the comment by:
Darth Plageuis: If you knew someone who knew someone who saw someone who knew this guy whose neighbor knew this Uncle that met a guy who once bumped into a guy who knew this Butcher who once caved meat for this guy who lived near the guy who talked to a JW who once met an anointed member who was alive during 1914....... I can buy that.

Oh my my.... what a wicked web they weave, when first they started to deceive....

Great, Blues Brothers... I love that quote. A "reasonable" person should doubt someone (the "GB") who can't get it right for over 100 years,
When that reasonable person, in turn, starts doubting.... they are called "human hot dogs," "bird food," "manure", "mentally diseased," & now I can add "pests that need to be exterminated" to my list of "ambient abuse" phrases.
Cofty.... I really hope so, I have fam & friends I'd like to reach...
Adamah... Once you see how the WT dog hunts, you see it in all their publlications. They congratulate you & make you feel good about "wondering," whilest ensuring you "God is love," and then.... when you are hooked about feeling good, using phrases like "safeguarding", "health" and "family," things you care about.... then ..... your mind is led to believe it all must fit together, to "accept" the pest control package... so, that "must be good"
If we were to put "Hitler" in that paragraph, explaining how he got countries to go along with his twisted genocidal ideas, you would have agreement that it is wrong.
Band on the Run... Yes, it makes me sick too.. A universal desire...... justice.....

Smiddy... very good, simple, right on the target points for "reasonably doubting" the WT's "overlapping generations"
You reminded me of the WT's beginning:
1874 USE to be the beginning of Christ's return.
1914 USE to be the date for Armageddon.
40 years.........
